Lambda (2)

Lambda (also known as Lambda Labs) is a Palo Alto–based AI infrastructure platform founded in 2012 by AI engineers. Now powered by NVIDIA Blackwell and H200 architectures, it serves as a primary alternative to legacy hyperscalers for over 5,000 global clients. Lambda’s infrastructure is often 40–50% more cost-efficient than traditional cloud providers such as AWS, making it an increasingly attractive option for companies training and deploying large-scale AI models.
Its customer base has evolved into a strategic network that includes frontier labs like OpenAI and Anthropic, the Department of Defense, and major enterprises such as Intel and Disney. Notably, Lambda has secured a multibillion-dollar infrastructure deal with Microsoft and a unique “lease-back” agreement with NVIDIA, which recently became one of Lambda’s largest customers.
Financially, the company is experiencing a rapid surge, with 2025 revenue reaching approximately $520 million. This growth is increasingly driven by high-margin cloud rentals, which now constitute the majority of its sales and yield gross margins upwards of 60%. These fundamentals, combined with a $1.5 billion Series E round in late 2025, have fueled secondary market valuations that now approach upwards of $11.5 billion.
Looking ahead, Lambda is actively preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) targeted for the second half of 2026. To lead this transition, the company has built out its C-suite with a new CFO and COO and is raising a final $350 million pre-IPO round led by Mubadala Capital. Backed by massive reserves of next-generation GPU inventory and expanding "gigawatt-scale" data centers, Lambda is strategically positioned as a dominant force in the global AI compute market.
This allocation offers preferred shares ~$48/share (~$8.7B post-money). Terms include 9% upfront and a carry of 15% for standard investments.
