The historic monumental entrance gate to the castle grounds is accessed via a romantic chestnut tree lined driveway. Once the gate opens - the extraordinary park of 12 acres reveales itself. With more than 140 different tree species from around the world it invites guests to meander through this impressive presentation of nature. Chateau de Montcaud is the perfect hideaway for gourmets and pleasure-seekers who appreciate sleek elegance and extraordinary gastronomy. Built in 1848 as a private residence of a silk manufacturer - the magnificent estate was completely renovated and reopened in the summer of 2018. It has become an oasis of tranquillity and style. With a top chef in the kitchen - a neighbourhood eatery and a gourmet restaurant - as well as a large number of culinary events throughout the year - the chateau is a paradise for foodies. All 29 guest rooms offer spectular views on the park with its century old trees and the surrounding hills and vignards. The heated swimming pool invites guest for a refreshing swim or a sunbath on the deckchairs. For the more active guests - a tennis court and a petanque track is at their disposal. Bikes can be rented to discover the rural french countryside with its typical villages and historic sites.
