
In 1903 Marie and Francois known as PERE BISE - founded the inn - a modest cabin by the lakes shore. In 1928 their son Marius turned it into a fine hotel hosting prominent figures of that era. In 1951 his wife Marguerite who was working as the establishments chef was awarded three Michelin stars. In the sixties their son and his wife Charlyne took over and their daughter joined in to help in 1987. In 2016 Magali and Jean Sulpice acquired the Auberge du Pere Bise. They undertook massive renovation and decoration works. On the 5 May 2017 they reopened and presented a fully rejuvenated and transformed inn. The establishment features a brand new restaurant the Bistrot 1903. The hotel received a five star rating. In 2018 Jean Sulpice was declared Cook of the Year by Gault and Millau and the gastronomic restaurant awarded two Michelin stars.Seasonal closure from 15 December 2019 to February 2020
