Beauty Undefined explores the concept of womanhood within societal constructions of physical beauty and what it means to be 'beautiful.' The exhibition attempts to reinterpret these conceptions by introducing issues of culture and identity through the mediums of photography, video installation, graffiti, fine art, and sculpture. The exhibition is curated by Monica Watkins and Magda Love, and features the works of 20 international artists, including: Tim Okamura, Esteban del Valle, Toto Cullen,
Erica Simone, Lina Valentina, Magda Love, Marco Gallotta, Crystal Vinson, Dasha Dare, Allie
Olson, Jeana Lindo, Zephy, Sokphalla Ban, Rob Forbes, Alison Brady, Nikola Tamindzic, Loan
Chabanol, Shaun Mader, Sajji Lazarus, and Ekaterina Kulikova.
100% of the proceeds from Beauty Undefined will be donated to Project India, a series of art, music, photography and writing workshops produced by anti-human trafficking non-profit Beauty for Freedom in Southeast Asia Spring 2016. Project India's mission is to promote self-esteem and self-expression for the at-risk youth and survivors of sex trafficking in India and Cambodia through the arts.
