Washington Nationals

After a 34-year absence, baseball returned to Washington, D.C. in 2005. As a member of the National League East Division, the Washington Nationals have qualified for postseason play twice in their short existence of only 10 seasons by winning division titles in both 2012 and 2014. Over the past decade, members of the Nationals roster have received seven Silver Sluggers awards, two Gold Glove awards, one NL Rookie of the Year, and two NL Manager of the Year awards. Located south of the United States Capitol, Nationals Park opened in 2008 and is surrounded by the fast-developing Capitol Riverfront.
