Visit a historic monument and see a famous viaduct
Travel from Edinburgh heading north past Stirling Castle, crossing into the Highlands at the Highland Boundary Line. Visit The Trossachs National Park, connected to Rob Roy MacGregor, with a short pause in the town of Callander. Continue through Rannoch Moor, arriving at Glencoe, a valley with a significant background and known from cinematic appearances. After a lunch break in a local town (at your own expense), proceed towards Glenfinnan, overlooking Loch Shiel. See the Glenfinnan Monument, view the viaduct famously featured in cinematic works, and possibly spot a steam train crossing the landscape.
