See the Pantheon and visit Julius Caesar’s assassination site
Tour Rome's historical sites on foot. Start at Palazzo Colonna, one of the city's oldest private palaces. Walk through cobbled streets to the Trevi Fountain, and toss a coin. See the ancient columns of the Temple of Hadrian and Caravaggio’s works in San Luigi dei Francesi. Enter the Pantheon, with its open oculus, and learn about its nearly 2,000-year history as a temple and church. Move to Piazza Navona, which was once a Roman stadium and is now a Baroque square. Visit Largo di Torre Argentina, the site of Julius Caesar’s assassination. End at Piazza Venezia, with its grand white marble Vittoriano.
