Depart from Tokyo and travel northward to Nagano Prefecture. Start with a Japanese-style lunch composed of a variety of set dishes. Head to Jigokudani Valley, home to the snow monkeys. These Japanese macaques can be seen in their natural surroundings at the Jigokudani Monkey Park. Observe the monkeys as they interact, without touching or feeding them to maintain their safety and comfort. From 22 January–28 February, conclude your day with a special visit to Kamakura no Sato (Kamakura snow huts), where gently lit snow huts create a magical atmosphere.
