Mies van der Rohe Pavilion: Pavilion-Labyrinth, Ciro Najle & Josep Ferrando

Walk through glass paths and observe spatial reflections

Designed by Josep Ferrando and Ciro Najle, the artistic intervention Pavilion-Labyrinth transforms the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion by introducing a glass maze on its travertine podium. This intervention explores themes of transparency, reflection, and boundaries, modifying spatial perception. The arrangement of multiple glass panels creates an environment where lightness becomes dense and the open becomes impenetrable. Without altering the original architecture, the labyrinth provides a reinterpretation of the principles of Miesian design and an examination of the notion of architectural voids.
