Benagil: Pirate Ship Sunrise Caves Cruise

Navigate the river and enter small cave boats

Start at Portimão at Cais Vasco da Gama and navigate the Rio Arade River. Pass the fishing village Ferragudo, the 15th-century Dom João Castle, and Praia Grande de Ferragudo, then enter the Atlantic Ocean. Head east to see Praia do Pintadinho, the Ponta do Altar Lighthouse, Praia dos Caneiros, and Praia da Afurada. On a cliff, find a 2,000-year-old Roman watchtower. Continue to Praia do Vale da Lapa, the Smugglers Cave, Praia do Paraiso, and the fishing village Praia do Carvoeiro. View rock formations at Algar Seco, Praia do Vale de Centianes, the Alfanzina Lighthouse, and Cape of Carvoeiro. Then, board a small cave boat. Visit the inside of the Atlantis cave, the Crocodile cave, the Praia do Carvalho, the Deep cave, the Eco cave, the Turtle cave, Benagil beach, and the famous Benagil caves.
